MEETINGS: The Association's annual fall meeting, usually scheduled on Columbus Day weekend, alternates among cities and campuses throughout our constituent area. Meetings combine scholarly papers on ancient literature, history and archaeology with panels and presentations on the teaching of the Classics, providing a relaxed and enjoyable forum for all college and secondary school teachers who are interested in the Greco-Roman world. NB: Pennsylvania teachers can now earn Act 48 credit for attending CAAS meetings and Maryland Latin teachers attending the CAAS meeting may request certificates of attendance that can be taken back to their school systems for inclusion in their Maryland State Department of Education professional development packets. 2010 Annual Meeting: The 2010 meeting will be held on October 7-9, 2010, at the Hilton Newark Airport Hotel in Elizabeth, New Jersey (hotel website will open in a new page). The program is now online and will be updated as needed. Registration materials will be mailed to all CAAS members soon and also posted on the website. Conference Travel Subsidies: CAAS is offering modest subsidies of up to $500 for travel to the 2010 Annual Meeting in New Jersey. Only CAAS members are eligible for these subsidies, which are need-based, and priority for funding will be given to presenters of papers, panel participants, and presiders. Application forms must be sent as email attachments to Shelley Haley at a special email address (caassubs@hamilton.edu) no later than August 21, 2010. Download the application form as a Word file, type in the information, save it by adding your own last name to the filename (e.g., TravelSubsidyForm_Smith.doc), and email it as an attachment to Shelley. NB: please fill in all sections on the first two pages of the form. Past Meetings:
